Cardinal Sako’s Letter to the Patriarchal Administrator Announcing His Non-Participation in the Upcoming Synod
Patriarchate Media
His Beatitude Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako addressed a letter to the Patriarchal Administrator informing him that he will not participate in the upcoming synod to elect the new Patriarch.
Below is the text of the letter.
My esteemed brother, Bishop Habib Hormuz, Patriarchal Administrator,
Greetings and peace in the Lord.
I have decided not to participate in the synod for the selection of a new Patriarch, so that it may not be said that I intervened, influenced, or supported one candidate or another. At this stage, I’m joining the Chaldean Church through prayer and hope for the coming Patriarch.
I will also leave the Patriarchate and move to Ankawa or another place as soon as the security situation stabilizes. I affirm that I live in peace, calm, and joy, and I will not interfere in the affairs of the coming Patriarch at all.
May the merciful Lord grant you success and enlighten your path for the good of the Church.
